When a man is sent by God, results become his identity. When purpose drives a vision, awards will follow like a river that cannot be stopped. Governor Umo Eno is such a man – sent from God, anointed, and appointed for such a time as this.
Barely two years into his divine assignment, the earth is responding, and the voice of impact is growing louder across the nation.
In a divine sequence of honour, Governor Eno has been decorated with two national awards in the space of days – undeniable confirmations that God’s grace is not just at work but speaks loud and clear.
First, it was the Leadership Newspaper Governor of the Year Award. Now, the New Telegraph Newspaper has honoured him as Governor of the Year in Human Capacity Development.
You can’t stop a man who God has sent. You can only watch as grace multiplies upon him. Governor Eno has become a pacesetter – an embodiment of divine wisdom in governance. Line upon line, precept upon precept, his achievements is attracting the attention of national institutions.
At the just concluded Executive Council Retreat in Lagos, the latest award was presented in recognition of the Governor’s commitment to human empowerment. The Managing Director of New Telegraph, Mr. Ayodele Aminu, led a high-powered delegation to present the honour.
In his words, “We have seen, we have heard, and we are witnesses to the change you are commanding in Akwa Ibom. From youth empowerment to bursaries, your leadership is people-centred and impactful.”
Indeed, the Word of God says, “By their fruits ye shall know them.” Governor Eno’s fruits are speaking loud and clear. From Ibom-LED training over 2000 citizens and releasing 500,000 naira business support grants each as exit strategy to other youth development initiatives like farmers and traders grants, these are not political gestures, they are destiny-advancing interventions.
By strategic partnership with the Bank of Industry, the Governor has opened doors of access to loans with single-digit interest rates, 2billion naira in SME support. These are the arrows of development shot forth with precision and compassion!
Scripture says, “The labour of the foolish weariest every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.” But here is a wise leader, navigating with divine intelligence. His ARISE Agenda is not guesswork; it is structured, intentional, and fruitful. Even the education sector is not left behind—bursaries flowing, special grants for students with disabilities, all pointing to inclusive governance.
In a nation grappling with unemployment, Governor Eno has shown that he came prepared for governance! Over 550 youths engaged in Ibom Community Watch, 368 Ward Personal Assistants strategically appointed, over 200 graduates from DASAC equipped with necessary skills in their fields. These are not numbers, they are lives transformed, destinies awakened, and families lifted.
Who is he that overcometh the challenges of leadership, but he that is led by purpose and compassion? This Governor has not only received honour from men, but the loud ovation of destiny itself. The viral video of him empowering a woman in need wasn’t a media stunt – it was a picture of his heart: a shepherd after the people.
At the presentation, amidst a standing ovation, Governor Eno gave glory to God and dedicated the award to his family and the good people of Akwa Ibom. He acknowledged that every honour is a seed of responsibility, and every recognition is a call to deeper commitment.
The Word declares: “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings.” That Scripture is now flesh in the life of Governor Umo Eno.
