Nigeria’s representative Enyimba International intensified their readiness for the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup match against Al Masry of Egypt, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The team, under coach Yemi Olarenwaju, arrived in Uyo to have the players train on a grass pitch before travelling to Egypt for the opening group game.
Enyimba technical adviser, Yemi Olanrewaju has revealed the reason behind his team’s decision to train in Uyo for the CAF Confederation Cup clash with Al Masry of Egypt.
Olanrewaju said that the nature of the grass at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia was behind their training in Uyo.
“The reason why we came over to Uyo to prepare for our continental match. We’re going to play on a grass pitch in Egypt,” Olanrewaju told CompleteSports.
“Our ground in Aba is synthetic, and ball movement is quite different.
“That’s why we trained in Uyo, Kudos to the management of Enyimba for bringing us there for preparation.”
Enyimba are in Group D alongside another Egyptian giant, Zamalek, and Mozambican champions, Black Bulls.
