Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has reiterated his commitment to supporting the security agencies in the State for effective policing across the State.
He gave the assurance while receiving the new Commissioner of Police, CP J. O. Eribo at the Government House, Uyo.
The Governor expresses readiness to work with the CP on the area of security in the forthcoming Local Government elections, which according to him, may be their first joint task in the State.
He mentioned efforts of the State Government to ensure or improve the security architecture of the state, to include; the launch of Ibom Community Watch, noting that they were trained by the Police, which according to him, shows the readiness of Government to work with them.
Governor Eno acknowledged with delight, the CP’s high profile and intellectual accomplishments, and indicated that his wealth of knowledge and experience will be an added advantage to the security architecture of the State.
He welcomed the the CP to the State, and assured him of maximum cooperation.
Earlier, the CP eulogised Akwa Ibom State for being very peaceful and well organized.
He assured that he will partner with other security agencies and relevant stakeholders to ensure effective policing of the State.
CP Eribo is the 33rd CP of Akwa Ibom State, holds a B.A (Hons) from the University of Benin, LLB from the University of Calabar; BL, Law School, Abuja and LLM from the Lagos State University.
He is the immediate past CP, Taraba State Command and has served as DCP Operations, Kogi State Police Command; DC Zonal CID, Zone 9, Umuahia, Abia State; Area Commander Agodi, Ibadan and AC State CID, Lafia, Nasarawa State Police Command.
