A civil society organization (CSO) has rejected Celcilia Ogbeche Odok’s request for the reinstatement of Dr. Beta Edu as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

The CSO argued that Dr. Edu’s suspension is necessary for investigating allegations against her, ensuring accountability and transparency in governance.

In a press statement, CSO Spokesman Comrade Gremma Ibrahim Musa emphasized that integrity must take precedence over sentiments and emotions for Nigeria’s development.

“Due process must be upheld, and Dr. Edu’s suspension prevents potential interference or obstruction,” he stated.

The CSO urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to resist pressure from selfish Nigerians, warning that reinstating Dr. Edu would undermine Nigeria’s anti-corruption efforts and erode public trust.

“If President Tinubu falls for this emotional blackmail, we will support a pro-people government in 2027,” the group stated.
