Former DSS DG Horsfall, Dies At 84

The former Director-General of the State Security Service, DSS, and pioneer Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, Albert Korubo Horsfall has died.

This was disclosed by his son, Donald Horsfall, in a statement on Friday.

The family described his death as the loss of a “beloved patriarch,” while highlighting his decades of service to Nigeria, Rivers State and the Niger Delta.

It added that the deceased lived a fulfilled and impactful life dedicated to God, his family, community, Rivers State and Nigeria.

The family said, “Chief A.K. Horsfall was an illustrious son of the Niger Delta, a distinguished public servant, statesman, administrator, and one of the most respected figures in the history of Rivers State and Nigeria at Large.”

Horsfall was described as one of the founding fathers of Rivers State who made significant contributions to the development of the state and the country during his public service career.
