The Honourable Commissioner for Sports, Elder Paul Bassey is expected to grace the grand finale of the Troost Ekong’s Foundation Football Tournament for Secondary schools, coming up September 1st.
This follows a presentation of an exclusive invitation to the sports helmsman in his office early Monday, August 17, by a member of the tournament’s Board of Trustees (BOT), Mr Bernard Ekong.
The tournament which is running in collaboration with the Akwa Ibom State Football Association (AKSFA), is a give back measure to the society in sports development,by the former Captain of the Nigerian national football team-Super Eagles, Williams Troost Ekong.
The legendary centre back’s initiative which is targeted at identifying and developing talented young athletes,has selected secondary schools across the state,in both male and female categories.
Meanwhile,the Akwa Ibom State FA chairman, Mr Samuel Umoh,has commended the Troost Ekong’s Foundation while confirming delivery of necessary kits, as preparations for the tournament’s grand finale gathers momentum.
