The Akwa Ibom State Police Command, Friday last week, received the National Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, and the Akwa Ibom State Chairman of the Committee, Pastor Ezekiel Umoh, on a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi.
According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Timfon John, the visit was aimed at strengthening the longstanding partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, deepening community engagement, and reinforcing collaborative efforts towards effective policing, crime prevention, and enhanced public safety in Akwa Ibom State.
DSP John said as part of the visit, the delegation commissioned a newly constructed sanitary facility donated to the Akwa Ibom State Police Command by the PCRC. The facility is expected to improve sanitation within the Command Headquarters, enhance the welfare of police personnel, and provide a more conducive environment for members of the public accessing police services.
Speaking during the visit, the PCRC National Chairman, Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, commended the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, for his exemplary leadership, professionalism, and commitment to fostering collaboration and synergy between the Police and critical stakeholders. He reaffirmed the PCRC’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force in its efforts to enhance security and strengthen community policing initiatives.
In his remarks, CP Azare expressed profound appreciation to the PCRC for its continued support and invaluable contributions towards promoting harmonious police-community relations. He noted that the donation of the sanitary facility reflects the Committee’s commitment to the welfare of police personnel and the improvement of public service delivery.
The Commissioner further reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to professional, intelligence-driven, and people-oriented policing, while emphasizing that sustained collaboration with the PCRC and other stakeholders remains essential to achieving lasting peace, security, and public confidence in policing.
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command remains resolute in its commitment to fostering strategic partnerships that promote effective policing and ensure a safer and more secure environment for all residents of the State.
