The All Progressives Congress, APC, says it has set up a reconciliation panel to engage members whose names were replaced during its candidate substitution exercise ahead of the 2027 polls.

The party confirmed it has screened and submitted about 2,500 aspirants for various elective positions to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for publication.

Speaking to the journalists, APC Director of Publicity, Mallam Bala Ibrahim, said nomination forms had been issued to cleared candidates, while INEC had received the party’s final list.

“It is not new for a candidate’s name to be changed. Where an error was made, justice demands correction,” Ibrahim said.

“There is a reconciliation committee we constituted to persuade those affected. Democracy is not a system where everyone gets what they want,” he added.

He urged aggrieved members to remain in the party, saying, “We expect that anyone who is not happy will continue to contribute, with the hope that if we win, they will be considered for more impactful roles.”

The development comes as political parties intensify preparations for INEC’s timetable ahead of 2027.
