The Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has said his recent trips to President Bola Tinubu and a large-scale agricultural facility in Nasarawa were part of efforts to widen the state’s development drive.

A statement from the Government House Press Unit on Sunday, the March 1, 2026, said the governor spoke to reporters shortly after landing at Victor Attah International Airport.
Addressing his meeting with President Tinubu, Eno described it as part of his regular engagement with the Presidency.

“Naturally, from time to time, governors go to brief the President. He is the father of the nation. So as a sub-national, you brief him on the affairs of the state, where you need help, and what is going on. It was one of such briefings,” he said.
On his trip to CSS Farm in Nasarawa State, the governor said the visit was designed as a learning exercise for his team.
He noted that the state delegation assessed the operations of the integrated farm with a view to drawing lessons for the Ibom Model Farm, in line with his administration’s ARISE Agenda on agriculture.

“The visit was a study tour. You know we have the Ibom Model Farm. So we went to see what they are doing and what we can do differently. You must compare notes.
“There is really nothing new under the sun. People are doing different things, so you have to check what they are doing and compare notes.

“Let our team see what others are doing, what is behind their success story, and what we can take away. It was a working visit really,” he added.
