Israel initiated what officials described as a “preemptive strike” against Iran early Saturday, February 28, prompting authorities to declare a state of emergency across the country.
Defence Minister Israel Katz confirmed the action, stating that the strike targeted Iran.
In response to the operation and amid concerns over possible retaliation, the Israeli government imposed emergency measures nationwide.
Officials said the state of emergency was declared due to expectations that Iran could respond with drones and ballistic missiles. Israel has closed its airspace to civilian flights after announcing it.
