The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of
Transport, Mrs Grace Akpan, has charged staff of the Ministry on dedication and commitment to ARISE Agenda, even as she harps on the need for in-house training for staff of the Ministry.

According to her, the in-house training serves as practical low hanging fruits that can be easily employed for knowledge and skills improvement in the Service as senior officers will be engaged to impart their knowledge, expertise and experience on the juniors.

Mrs. Grace Akpan gave the charge on Tuesday, 17th February, during the staff general meeting held in the conference room of the ministry at Ben Udo Street, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo



The Permanent Secretary who tasked staff on upholding the tenets of ARISE Agenda in their daily duties expressed appreciation to His Excellency the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno Phd, for the love he showered on Civil Servants during the last Christmas season with Enomber largesses and urged the staff to reciprocate the gesture through loyalty and hardworking.

She used the occasion to thank the Commissioner for Transport, Dr Anthony Luke, for the Christmas bonus he shared to staff during the end of year get together expressing the hope that better days are ahead for the Ministry in this fiscal year.



She drew the attention of the staff to the expectations of government as enshrined in the civil service rules especially in areas of attendance at work, punctuality, ethics and dress code,intimating that the Civil Service monitoring team and even the Head of Civil Service might visit the Ministry at any time.

Earlier, the Director of Administration, Dr Sunday Umanah had commended the Permanent Secretary for organizing the meeting, where the welfare and development of staff of the ministry will be discussed and emphasized that the meeting is very crucial to the growth of the Ministry.

He said the meeting will be interactive to avail everyone the opportunity to bare their minds on the prospects and challenges of the Ministry as it relates to service delivery in the course of their daily activities.
