The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, has assured the Iban South-South Forum in the state that they would be accommodated in activities carried out by her office.
Lady Obareki gave this assurance on Thursday, January 15, 2026, when she received a delegation from the non-indigenous women organisation representing five states: Cross River, Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa and Edo, from the Niger-Delta region, at Government House, Uyo.
Commending the group for their willingness to partner with her office and for their commitment to collaborations, the Coordinator reiterated her readiness to work with groups who have structures in all the local government areas, particularly as plans are being concluded to commence the ARISE Women Sensitisation Tour across the 31 local government areas of Akwa Ibom State.
“I am happy to receive you as we commence a new year and it’s gratifying to note that your group has a solid membership base in all the local government areas, particularly as we are beginning the women sensitisation tour that will span the whole of February and part of March, ending with the celebration of the International Women’s Day. We will accommodate you as we progress,” she added.
President of the Iban South South Forum, Mrs Faith Usikhifo, praised Lady Helen Eno Obareki for her impactful projects through the Golden Initiative For All, GIFA, which has improved the lives of many families in Akwa Ibom State, irrespective of their ethnic origin.
She pledged the organisation’s support for initiatives promoted by the Office of the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, as well as
collaborations with the office of the First Lady on subsequent projects.
