The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’adu Abubakar, has reportedly left his palace for an unknown location, sparking concerns and speculations.

The Sultan is the spiritual leader of Nigeria’s Muslim community and head of the Sokoto Caliphate, a position he is still holding having been enthroned in 2006.
The Sultan palace is the symbol of Islamic heritage and governance in northern Nigeria always bustling with activities, but the sudden departure has left many wondering about the circumstances surrounding his exit.

From other credible sources information has emerged that the Sultan left the palace for safety reasons.
The United States bombing of Jabo community in Sokoto, and the continuous surveillance of terrorists hideouts in northern Nigeria may have prompted the Sultan to leave the sultanate.

No information ever link Abubakar to a romance and familiarity with any terrorists group, as he is respected and regarded as the symbol of Islamic heritage and governance in northern Nigeria
Abubakar retired from the military as a Brigadier General in 2006. He had served in the Nigerian Army for over 30 years, with notable assignments including commanding peacekeeping troops in Chad and overseeing the 231 Tank Battalion during ECOMOG operations in Sierra Leone.

The recent bombing of communities in Sokoto, Zamfara and Kwara on Christmas day is a pointer that northern Nigeria may become a full-blown theater of war and the Sultan feels not safe at this time, some news sources revealed.
To worsen the situation, the Israeli Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also announced the extension of intervention to rescue Christian from genocide in Nigeria.
Speaking to Christian leaders in Florida, Netanyahu said: “We are working on an agenda to support Christians under attack in Africa, with intelligence support, and in the Middle East with various means.” His Christmas message specifically named Nigeria, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Turkey as focus areas.
What this means is that Israel will offer intelligence sharing, strategic support, and coordination to the above mentioned countries.
That indeed is a clear message that Christian persecution will no longer be ignored.
This comes after Donald Trump’s Christmas Day airstrikes on terrorist camps in northwest Nigeria.
Whether through intelligence, resources, or strategic partnerships, Israel is signaling it won’t stand by while communities are slaughtered and that has already cause respectable dignitaries and investors to relocate to much more safer cities in the country.
