The Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, has announced Dr. Anieti Udofia, Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, as the Commissioner of the Year 2025, in recognition of his outstanding performance , leadership and the successful organisation of Christmas Unplugged 2025.
The announcement was made by the Governor , Thursday, 2nd January 2026, at the Governor’s country home. As part of the recognition, Governor Eno donated ₦20 million as an appreciation gift to Dr. Udofia and approved ₦100 million for the Christmas Unplugged Committee and Team.
Governor Eno expressed appreciation for the dedication, commitment, and hard work of the Commissioner and the entire team, noting that their efforts contributed significantly to the success of the event.
He further noted that a formal award will be presented at the State Executive Council meeting on a date to be announced.
