On Monday, December 22, 2025, the children of Akwa Ibom State had their fair share of the Christmas unplugged activities as they enjoyed a fun-filled and memorable Christmas Party hosted by the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, at the Amphitheatre of the Christmas village, Uyo.

Speaking at the event, Lady Obareki emphasised that the 2025 Christmas Party was inclusive and brought together children from all socioeconomic backgrounds across the state including children from all 31 Local Government Areas, children of security personnel, inmates of government homes throughout the three Senatorial Districts, and non-indigenous communities to fest and celebrate the birth of Christ together.

The Coordinator expressed gratitude to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno for providing the necessary funding to accommodate all the children in the arena. She also thanked the female chairmen of Local Government Councils and the wives of Local Government Chairmen for their unwavering support of her office activities.

Lady Obareki commended the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon Inibehe Etukudo, as well as the staff in her office, for their tireless efforts in ensuring the success of the event.
In her welcome address, Commissioner Etukudo appreciated Governor Umo Eno and Lady Helen Eno Obareki for making it a priority to celebrate the Yuletide with the children, in the spirit of Christmas.

Evangelist Becky Udom delivered a Christmas message to the children, reminding them that the essence of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ lies in love, giving, compassion, and living peacefully with one another.
Goodwill messages were delivered by the wife of the member representing Uyo Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Dr Dorcas Esset and the wife of the Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council and President WALGON, Mrs Akaniyene Udo, who praised Lady Helen Eno for creating a beautiful atmosphere for the children’s celebration and pledged their continuous support for her initiatives.

High point of the event was the photo session with Lady Helen Eno Obareki, where children from each cluster and other children who joined the party, had the opportunity of personally receiving gifts from the First Lady Designate.
The party was moderated by Uncle Chicco and included activities like cake-cutting, dance competitions, and various fun games categorised by age. The children were treated to ice cream, popcorn, food, drinks, gifts, while the party mascots, and bouncing castles, provided the children with a memorable and excitement filled party.
