Pastor Eno, who was represented by a director in the Ministry of Youth Development, Emmanuel Akpabio, gave the charge on Tuesday, December 9, during the closing ceremony for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ corps members posted to the state.

Commending them for the discipline and cooperation displayed during the orientation course, the governor encouraged the corps members to maintain the same values throughout their service year.

“I have received encouraging reports about your conduct and level of discipline in camp.

“Your predecessors made meaningful contributions in their places of primary assignment. It is now your responsibility to build on those achievements and add value to your host communities,” he said.

While assuring the corps members of the state’s peaceful environment, he advised them to integrate fully into their communities and show respect for cultural norms and traditions.

“Akwa Ibom is a peaceful and welcoming state. I encourage you to blend with your hosts, respect their customs, and contribute positively wherever you are posted,” he said.

Governor Eno also cautioned the corps members against embarking on night journeys, noting that past tragedies involving NYSC members were linked to late-night travel.

Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Sam Pepple, said more than 700 corps members who completed the orientation exercise had acquired the discipline, teamwork and resilience needed for national service.

According to Pepple, the corps members are “ready, fit and prepared for the service of our fatherland.”
