Business Mogul, Indomi, Bets On Akwa Ibom As Investment Destination, Seeks Partnership

Business mogul and Executive Chairman of Oriental Energy, Alhaji Mohammed Indimi, has described Akwa Ibom State as Nigeria’s top investment destination, citing its peace, security, and the hospitality of its people.

Indimi stated this during a courtesy visit by the management team of Oriental Energy to Governor Umo Eno at Government House, Uyo. He said the company had operated in the state for many years without incident, owing to what he described as a highly conducive atmosphere that encourages growth and stability.

He commended host communities for providing an enabling environment and highlighted some of Oriental Energy’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, including scholarships and medical support, assuring that the company remained committed to partnering with the state in various areas of development.

Executive Vice Chairman of the company, Engr Goni Musa Sheikh, also stressed that Akwa Ibom is the firm’s primary base of operations and noted that they had enjoyed peaceful coexistence in the state over the years.

In his remarks, Governor Eno thanked Indimi and his team for the visit and reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to collaborate with Oriental Energy in advancing the state’s development agenda.

“Your company has been here in the state, and we will continue to work with you to ensure mutual benefits for your company, the government, and the people of Akwa Ibom,” the governor said. He described the synergy between Oriental Energy and other oil firms in the state as “heart-warming” and assured stronger cooperation.

Governor Eno encouraged the company to consider using the state’s 21-storey smart building, the Udom Emmanuel Towers, as its administrative headquarters for closer engagement with government. He also urged Oriental Energy to employ and train more Akwa Ibom indigenes to boost local capacity.

The governor further commended the company for its contributions to the State Security Trust Fund and assured of a secure environment for operations.
