The Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has promised that the state will provide opportunities through a wide range of activities and initiatives for all citizens, residents and visitors to participate in, and enjoy the upcoming Christmas festivities.

Speaking at the December Covenant Service held at Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, the Governor urged everyone to stay away from trouble, worry less and prepare for divine visitation, and assured that his administration has concluded plans to reach out to everyone with “good tidings.”

He reiterated that workers will be paid their 13th month salary popularly known as Eno-mber before December 20, adding that there will be an “home going” on December 20 where all political office holders will contribute to support bags of rice that will be sent to villages across the state by the State government.

Governor Eno who has been very committed to the welfare of the citizenry stressed that the bags of rice will be distributed to every household through their respective village authorities.

He said the State will continue to live in peace and unity without any form of intimidation or molestation, adding that the ban on masquerade on the streets of Akwa Ibom is an executive order which has been signed, and anyone caught would be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.

Governor Eno who is a pastor by vocation expressed gratitude to God for His numerous blessings on the State since the beginning of the year, appreciated everyone who participated in the covenant service, and prayed for more blessings on the State and its citizenry in the coming year.

Ministering on the theme “Divine Visitation,” taken from 1 Samuel 2:21, the Senior Pastor of Daylight International Ministries, Lagos, Rev. Joseph Akanya, admonished Christians to remain faithful and obedient to continually enjoy divine visitation.

The service featured choir ministrations, praises, worship and a special session of thanksgiving to God for His blessings and protection throughout the year.
