The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has lamented what it described as dilapidated conditions of facilities at the Akwa Ibom State Orientation Camp.
The NYSC Coordinator in the state, Samuel Pepple, urged the governor to see to the rehabilitation of buildings in the camp, saying many of them were with leaking roofs.
Speaking during the 2025 Batch C Orientation exercise on Friday, November 21, Pepple said, “Let me at this juncture thank the Governor of Akwa Ibom State for standing by us and for the promise of rebuilding this orientation camp.
“Let me also at this juncture appeal to his excellency to please fast track the promise because even as they are here in this camp, old dilapidated building are all licking and we have Nigerians from all nooks and crannies. Please, your excellency, we need you on this emergency programme.”
The coordinator called on the corps members to obey camp rules and participate in all programs, noting that the programs are specifically designed to make them become problems solvers in the society.
