The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Nsibiet John, has called on churches across Nigeria to continually pray for the nation’s leaders, noting that such spiritual support contributes significantly to peace and progress in society.
Comrade John made the appeal on Sunday, November 16, during the dedication service of Little Miss EdifonAbasi Ukeme Ita at The Pentecostal Assembly of the World, Mbribit Itam, Itu LGA.
The child is the daughter of Mr Ukeme Ita Onna , an aide to the Member representing ONNA State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
Speaking at the event, the NUJ Chairman emphasized that “the church’s consistent prayers for leaders always have a positive effect on the society.” Comrade John who made financial support for the church on behalf of the Union, reaffirmed the Union’s continuous support for the church and its activities.
Addressing the parents, Comrade John urged them to raise their daughter in accordance with biblical teachings, noting that such upbringing comes with divine rewards. He also prayed for God’s grace upon the family, asking for the strength and resources needed to nurture Little Miss EdifonAbasi into a fulfilled future.
