The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has broken his silence on the threat by the President of the United States, Donald Trump to invade Nigeria over alleged Christian genocide and persecution, advising President Bola Tinubu to “move fast, move diplomatically, move wisely”.
Pastor Adeboye also advised President Tinubu to find a way to convince Trump to please delay his actions for about 100 days, “and then, come home and tell our security Chiefs, get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign”.

He further counseled that the service chiefs must be given clear orders “that they are not only to eliminate the terrorists, but they should also eliminate their sponsors no matter how influential they may be”.
Adeboye, popularly called Daddy GO, who bared his mind on Saturday morning after the November 2025 Holy Ghost service at a meeting with his “own children” monitored by Newsmata.com.ng, warned that if the government failed to move fast and America struck, the international community would not rise in our defence.
Disclosing that he had done his best quietly behind the scenes in the past concerning insecurity in the country, he lamented how he had offered the same advice to late President Muhammadu Buhari, but he failed to follow it through.
According to Pastor Adeboye, “In my own usual quiet way, I have the related to all the presidents who were around when this struggle started. What did you tell them? Whatever I discussed between me and the big ones, top privacy.

“I have done my best, quietly behind the scenes. But as I’ve always told you, you can only advise the commander-in-chief, you can’t command him because if you command the commander-in-chief and then you become the commander of the commander-in-chief, that doesn’t make sense. But I’ve tried, and God is my witness.
“What should we do now? I’m talking to you as my children. If I were asked to make suggestions, I would say quietly to our government, move fast, move diplomatically, move wisely.
“Find a way to convince the president of America to please delay his actions for about 100 days, and then, come home and tell our Security Chiefs, get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign.
“Now, that, I’m sure, would sound familiar to those of you who have been following situations in Nigeria.
“There was a president, unfortunately, he’s dead now. That’s (Muhammadu) Buhari, who issued such an order, some of you will remember; who called the service chiefs together and said, I give you three months, get rid of all these Boko Haram people or resign. He’s not around to tell you who gave him that advice.

“He ran with that advice, but he didn’t follow it through because he gave the order as the Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, but the security operatives moved fast. The three months went, and the work was not done.
“So, I went to see him; it was in the news. This time, somehow, the press got to know that I visited him. Of course, you were not there when we talked. And unfortunately, like I said, if he’s alive now or else I would have asked you to go and ask him: sir, why didn’t you follow through?
“Because when three months passed and the work wasn’t done, why didn’t you proceed with your – are we going to call it threat? I won’t tell you the details, but one thing came out of that meeting which will lead me to my next advice to our government in case there is any of you who can get across to them.
“That when giving orders to the service chiefs this time around, you should make it clear to them that they are not only to eliminate the terrorists, but they should also eliminate their sponsors no matter how influential they may be.
“When I said our leaders should move fast, move diplomatically, and move wisely, they must take note of the fact that if America should attack us, China is not coming to defend us; Russia will not come to defend us. All the so-called world leaders, they will talk, they will condemn what America had done in strongest terms. That’s all they will do.
“Britain is not going to come and help us. No other foreign powers will come to our aid. This is not the time for joking. This is not the time for grammar; this is not the time when you begin to argue. This is not the time for saying it’s not Christians alone, Moslems are also involved. The point is people are dying; innocent people are dying”.
Adeboye, who said he had been under pressure to speak up about Trump’s threat but resolved not to speak until the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) under which authority he belongs had spoken, said he almost spoke last month when he heard a speech by President Tinubu who he described as his in-law.
“When I heard the speech, particularly that section that spoke about security, you can go and listen to it again, where I heard him say all is well now; that displaced people have returned to their villages, I almost said the one who wrote that speech for my president, my in-law, does not like him.
“And if you want to say, what do you mean somebody wrote it, that it’s the president who read it, didn’t he read it before he read it? Well, if you put it that way, then my conclusion will be there are several people round my beloved in-law who are not telling him the truth.
“I think the following day, in the newspapers, we read about a traditional ruler being killed, whether in Kwara or Kogi while the wife was hiding somewhere in the house.
“But this is not the time for apportioning blames. Our president inherited this problem. It started before him, and in any case, I am an applied mathematician. I am more interested in, just get the problem solved; that’s all”.
He however gave some words of encouragement that Nigeria would know peace again.
“All these years, we have been praying for Nigeria. We can’t pray all these prayers without something happening, unless God is no longer on His throne, and He’s on His throne.
“And you see, I am saying it again, I am a mathematician, applied mathematician, and there is a law called Newton’s law of motion. You know wat it says? It says a body will remain at rest or maintain uniform motion in a straight line except an external force compels it to do otherwise. That’s Newton’s law of motion, meaning whatever method God wants to use, at the end of it all, there would be peace in Nigeria again”.
