The Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Rev. Dr Emmanuel Ossom, a revered servant of God and a towering father of faith, who died at the age of 85.
According to a condolence message released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, Governor Eno described the late cleric as “a devoted minister whose life and service were defined by deep faith, humility, and spiritual depth.”
Governor Eno noted that “Rev Ossom’s spiritual counsel was deeply valued, and his unwavering support for the ARISE Agenda and the unity of the Christian community in Akwa Ibom State will be greatly missed.”
The Governor recalled that until his passing, Reverend Ossom served faithfully as a member of the Government House Prayer Group and the Akwa Ibom State Christian Leadership Council, a body of Christian leaders established to advise the government and promote religious inclusivity in the State.
He further highlighted his role as Chairman of Conference Emeritus of the Qua Iboe Church/United Evangelical Church, where he provided visionary leadership and inspired many through his steadfast devotion to the gospel.
The Akwa Ibom Governor extended heartfelt condolences to the Ossom family, the Qua Iboe Church/United Evangelical Church, and the entire Christian community, praying that “the Lord will receive His faithful servant into eternal rest and grant comfort to his family and all who were touched by his life and ministry.”
“Let me assure the family that we will continue to stand by them in these trying times,” the statement added.
