PCVE Summit 2025 Kicks Off In Abuja with Stakeholders United Against Violent Extremism

The 2025 Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) Summit officially commenced today at Lake Greenfield Hotel & Tower in the Kado District of Abuja, drawing together top security experts, policymakers, civil society leaders, and development partners for three days of strategic dialogue and collaboration.

Among the key figures attending the summit is Saviour Akpan Esq., Executive Director of the Community Policing Partners (COMPPART Foundation for Justice and Peacebuilding) and a Steering Committee Member of the Partnership Against Violent Extremism (PAVE Network). He is joined by Solomon Okpo, a crime reporter with expertise in PCVE from Akwa Ibom State.

The summit, which runs from September 25 to 27, is being organized in partnership with the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) under the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA). It aims to provide a platform for stakeholders to evaluate current counter-extremism strategies, strengthen inter-agency cooperation, and explore innovative, community-based approaches to addressing the root causes of radicalization.

As deliberations begin, the PCVE Summit 2025 is poised to set a new tone for unified, multi-sector action in the fight against violent extremism in Nigeria.
