Police Nab Cable Vandals In Akwa Ibom

Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have arrested vandals of public electrical infrastructure in Esit Eket Local Government Area.

This was made known by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Timfon John in a Press Release dated September 22, 2025 in Uyo.



According to the Press Release, “On September 21, 2025, at approximately 7:20a.m, Operatives of the Command successfully arrested two suspects for vandalizing public electrical infrastructure.

“The suspects, identified as Wisdom Nkereuwem Etefia, a 22-year-old male from Afaha Ekpenedi village, and Sunday Okon Kingsley, a 24-year-old male from Akpautong village, were caught in the act of vandalizing Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) cables in Odoro Nkit village.

Recovered items


“Items recovered at the scene include a quantity of PHEDC cables and a Qlink motorcycle with registration number UYY242VC.

“The Akwa Ibom State Police Command remains committed to its mission of combating crime and ensuring the safety and security of all residents,” DSP John concluded.
