A Nigerian man identified as Uche Okai, alias Balo Antonio, has been arrested at the immigration office check post in Raxaul in the India–Nepal border while attempting to enter India from Nepal.
The 48-year-old Nigerian was identified as Uche Okai alias Balo Antonio.
Diaspora Tales gathered that Uche initially arrived in India on a three-month visa but ended up living in the country illegally for 12 years.

According to a report by the Times of India, he was trying to enter India using a passport and visa issued by the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire.
Some immigration office sources, during document verification, reported that he presented an Ivorian passport.
Meanwhile, records showed that he first entered India on April 15, 2012, at Mumbai on a three-month medical visa issued on his Nigerian passport.
After the expiration of his visa, he stayed in the country unlawfully for more than 12 years.

He was eventually deported from Mumbai airport in December 2024 by the foreign regional registration office in Mumbai, which issued him a ‘Leave India Notice’ before sending him back to Nigeria.
Officials said after deportation, he travelled to Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan Airport. Then he attempted to cross into India through Raxaul, using a fake identity with an altered name, date of birth, country details, passport number, and Côte d’Ivoire visa number.
He was intercepted during immigration office checks in Raxaul.
He had since been handed over to the Haraiya police station in Raxaul for further action.
The East Champaran, SP Swarn Prabhat, said, “It is being investigated what his intention was behind re-entering India despite being deported.”
