Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have arrested a suspected defilement and armed robbery suspect in Ini Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Command, DSP Timfon John made this known in Uyo on August 30, 2025.
DSP John stated that,
“On August 28, 2025, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command arrested a suspect linked to a case of defilement and armed robbery in the state.
“Following a tip-off received on August 27 from a concerned citizen, detectives were able to track and apprehend the suspect, Happiness Alphonsus Iseyen, a 26-year-old male from Ini Local Government Area. The arrest was made at approximately 1340 hours. Upon a search of the suspect, a locally made pistol and one cartridge were recovered from his possession.
“The Akwa Ibom State Police Command is conducting a discreet investigation to arrest other members of the gang and recover their operational weapons.
“The command reassures the public of its commitment to ensuring the safety of all residents. We urge citizens to continue to cooperate with the police by providing timely and credible information,” PPRO DSP John concluded.
