The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, has affirmed that former President Goodluck Jonathan remains a member of the party and has not resigned, dispelling speculations about his political affiliation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Ologunagba made the clarification on Wednesday while speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show, where he also addressed questions about potential presidential aspirants following the PDP’s decision to zone its ticket to the South.

“President Jonathan is still a member of this party because he has not resigned,” Ologunagba said.

However, he declined to comment on the possible return of former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, stating that Obi had not formally indicated any intention to rejoin the PDP.

“Mr. Obi was a presidential candidate in the last election for another political party. He has not indicated that he’s joining the party. So, for me, it would be improper to begin to comment on that,” he explained.
