In his condolence message, Governor Eno acknowledged the deceased’s contributions to the Church, the State, and the Football, particularly in his role as Team Manager of Akwa United Football Club, where his leadership helped secure the Nigeria Professional Football League title and several FA Cup victories.

“Though his passing is sad and painful, please take consolation in the knowledge that in his relatively young life, he achieved much in his areas of passion and service,” the Governor said.

“Continue to uphold his ideals of faith, service, and community – values that defined his life and service to humanity while he was with us.”

Speaking on behalf of the family, Sir Charles Udoh expressed profound gratitude to the Governor, members of the State Executive Council, and well-wishers for the overwhelming support shown during their period of bereavement. He described his late brother as a pillar of strength and a moral compass whose memory will continue to guide the family.

The funeral mass, officiated by the Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. John Nkereuwem, was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Obio Offot, Uyo, on Thursday, August 14, 2025. The solemn service drew dignitaries, top government officials, community leaders, clergymen, and friends from across the State and beyond, who gathered to honour the life and memory of the late Sir Emmanuel Udoh, KSJI.
