The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has condemned the release of an indecent video involving Comfort Emmanson, the passenger at the center of a recent altercation on an Ibom Air flight.

He further directed that a joint security meeting of all relevant agencies be held next week to enhance coordination and strengthen protocols for managing similar incidents.

Keyamo explained that, beyond the indefinite domestic and international flight ban imposed on Emmanson by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, the passenger was arraigned at the Ikeja Magistrates Court on Monday, August 11, and remanded to Kirikiri prison after failing to meet bail conditions.

While acknowledging the need to document her unruly behavior for legal purposes, the minister condemned the public release of footage showing indecent exposure, calling it “deplorable” and a “debasement of womanhood.” He insisted that the individual responsible must face disciplinary action.

Keyamo also urged airlines to continuously train their staff in public relations and conflict management to defuse potentially volatile situations before they escalate. He stressed that passengers with grievances should use the established channels provided by the NCAA’s Consumer Protection Directorate rather than resorting to actions that could lead to serious consequences.
