Lawmaker representing Eket/ONNA/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency, Okpolupm Etteh, has given a solar-powered street light to Akwa Ibom State School of Nursing, Eket.

The project will boost safety, visibility and academic functionality on campus. With a focus on renewable energy, it will reduce the school’s reliance on the public grid, offering a stable and eco-friendly power solution.

Etteh, deputy chair of House Committee on University Education, advocated education-focused development and climate-resilient infrastructure. This intervention, like many, underscores his dedication to modernising the educational ecosystem in his constituency through practical and forward-thinking solutions.

Stakeholders lauded the lawmaker for his gesture, saying the installation would boost safety and lift morale of students and workers.

“This project goes beyond lighting—it reflects a leader who listens and delivers,” a senior school administrator said.
