D’Tigress secured their seventh overall AfroBasket title on Sunday after defeating Mali 78-64 in a fiercely contested final. The win not only cemented their dominance on the continent but also sparked widespread national pride and celebration.

President Tinubu praised the team for their courage, discipline, and dedication, describing them as role models for young Nigerians and ambassadors of national excellence.

This latest gesture mirrors the rewards recently conferred on the Super Falcons, who also received national honours and gifts for winning Nigeria’s 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco.
