Culture Commissioner Udofia Harps On Promotion Of ARISE Agenda, Assures Of Continuous Boost To Staff Welfare

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Anieti Udofia has urged Cultural and Tourism Zonal Officers of the Minsitry to work assiduously towards the promotion of ARISE Agenda by showcasing the strides of  government in the Tourism sector even as he assured of continuous boost to staff welfare and morale.

In addition to this, the Zonal Officers were also implored to project Akwa Ibom as a premier Tourism destination by identifying heritage sites and tourism potentials abound in the different communities of the state inorder to attract tourists and investors to the state, towards increasing the revenue yeilds of the State as enshrined in the ARISE Agenda.

Dr. Anieti Udofia, stated this Friday, during the One year anniversary of the Ministry’s monthly Staff Birthday celebration held at the Ministry’s foyer, Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat, Uyo.

The Tourism boss expressed appreciation to God for granting July-born staff of the Ministry the opportunity to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the monthly birthday programme emphasizing that, he will not relent in encouraging all programmes and activities that relate to staff welfare and motivation as a means of boosting their morale for increased performance and productivity.

He prayed God for strength, knowledge and wisdom, to enable the celebrators serve with diligence and reaffirmed his commitment to the birthday celebration, which has bonded his staff into one big united family.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Grace Akpan at the occasion, the Tourism Commissioner commended the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno PhD, for his contributions to the growth of the Ministry and urged all staff to maintain their dedication and cooperation wherever they are posted to.



Earlier in her tone setting, the Director of Culture, Mrs. Comfort Anwana, had expressed joy over the one year anniversary of the birthday celebration in the Ministry and commended the Honourable Commissioner, Dr. Anieti Udofia, for sustaining the staff birthday culture in the ministry and thanked the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Grace Akpan, for initiating the programme in the Ministry.

In a vote of thanks on behalf of the celebrators, the longest serving staff of the Ministry and a July-born, Mrs. Edith Akpan, expressed deep appreciation to the Commissioner, Dr. Anieti Udofia, for fostering unity, love, and togetherness among staff and management through the monthly birthday celebrations and thanked the Permanent Secretary, Mrs.Grace Akpan, for taking time out to celebrate on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner.



Highpoints of the event were the presentation of birthday gifts to the celebrators, cutting of the birthday cake  amidst birthday chants, as well as the presentation of gifts to the Permanent Secretary by the July-born celebrators.
