The Akwa Ibom State Government has approved the recruitment of 3,000 qualified professionals into its Mainstream Civil Service, in what officials describe as a strategic move to strengthen public service delivery and drive youth empowerment across the state.

Governor Umo Eno approved the recruitment exercise, which cuts across a wide range of disciplines and cadres, including education, healthcare, engineering, law, agriculture, science, and administration.

In a statement released on Monday, July 28, the Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, Frank Ekpenyong, said the recruitment process will be conducted exclusively through the state’s ARISE Youth Employment Portal — https://employment.akwaibomstate.gov.ng.

He described the initiative as part of the governor’s commitment to transparency and job creation through the ARISE Agenda.

“These appointments span every discipline and cadre, including teachers, nurses, administrators, engineers, scientists, state counsels, technicians, accountants, agriculturists, and many more,” the statement noted.

Applicants are required to complete their profiles on the portal by uploading relevant documents such as academic certificates, NYSC discharge or exemption certificates, and other required credentials before they can apply.

The ministry clarified that candidates must apply for only one vacancy that aligns with their qualifications and that a valid email address will serve as the sole channel of communication throughout the process.

Once applications close, shortlisted candidates will be notified through the portal and required to accept their shortlisting online.

Those shortlisted will receive a QR-coded interview invitation later.

According to the statement, some roles may require an aptitude test, for which clear instructions and dates will be provided via the portal.

Candidates are expected to present their printed invitation slip, original certificates, and writing materials on the day of the test or interview.

Successful applicants will receive final notifications through the portal and be directed to report to the appropriate departments for documentation and onboarding.

“Once your appointment is confirmed, your status on the ARISE Employment Portal will be updated to ‘Employed,’” the statement added.

Ekpenyong also confirmed that various departments are finalising documentation for their specific vacancies and that listings are expected to go live on or before July 31, 2025.
