In a vibrant ceremony held on Wednesday, 23rd July 2025, Ibom Paint officially opened its premier Colour Centre at 253 Oron Road, Eni Paul Plaza, adjacent to Ring Road 3 in Uyo. This landmark event marks the beginning of a new era for the state-owned brand, bringing high-quality paints closer to the consumer base in the heart of the capital city.
The brief but symbolic tape-cutting ceremony was performed by the Honourable Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Mr. Ubong Inyang, who served as the Special Guest. In his remarks, he commended the management of Ibom Paint for their commitment to excellence and reaffirmed Governor Umo Eno’s unwavering support for the initiative.
Mr. Ime Uwah, Sole Administrator of Ibom Paint, emphasized the strategic location of the Colour Centre, citing its proximity to the local market. He noted that this is a key advantage, considering that the brand’s recently restored state-of-the-art factory is situated in Etinan Local Government Area, just outside Uyo. He underscored the brand’s promise of premium quality and consistent service delivery, while extending deep gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, for his visionary guidance and support.
Pastor Imo-Abasi Jacob, Managing Director of the Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation (AKICORP), celebrated the team’s readiness to deliver on its business objectives. He assured stakeholders of AKICORP’s continued technical supervision and business support to ensure the brand’s sustainability.
Also present at the ceremony were key officials, including the Honourable Commissioner for Sport, Elder Paul Bassey; Mr. Usen Effiong, Executive Director, Other Investments, AKICORP; Mr. Godwin Ugwat, Executive Director, Agriculture, AKICORP; Dr. Augustine Umoh; and Dr. Ity Ntawan, Delivery Advisors to the Governor. There were also representatives from the Ministries of Health and Housing, as well as contractors led by Hensek Integrated Services.
The newly inaugurated Ibom Paint Colour Centre is now open to the public Monday through Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, offering top-tier paint solutions and expert customer service.
