Earlier, the State Chairman of, NARPON, Chief Anselem Eyo, expressed delight for the command’s effort in combating crimes in the state.

“Our visit today, as was clearly stated in our initial letter to you, to introduce not just the newly elected officers of the National
Association of the Retired Police Officers of Nigeria (NARPON) to you but the current status and aspirations of the association in general”, Chief Eyo said while opening his address.

“We like to round up this address with requests that would go a long way to complement and galvanise the aims and aspirations that we have in such areas like:

i) Your facilitating our being granted a piece of land to build our permanent meeting hall around the Headquarters here;

ii) Considering our being provided with a utility vehicle for our movements;

iii) The sponsorship of our assigned delegates to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Abuja;

iv) Including our Executive Officers and deserving Senior Retired Officers in your official protocol list;

v) Permitting the State Public Relations Officer (SPPRO) to assist in publicising our existence and activities through the electronic and print media.

“We believe that retirement should be a noble transition, one that is planned and celebrated. Our association as presently constituted is committed to paving a better path — acting as vanguards for a more dignified retirement, not just for ourselves but as will help to rewrite the retirement narrative for police officers in Nigeria”, the Chairman concluded in his address.

He urged the command to collaborate with the association in sharing experience that will aid security in the state.
