Air Peace has disclosed plans to pause all Lagos-bound and departing flights for 12 hours on Saturday due to the local government elections scheduled in the state.
The airline made this announcement in a statement shared on X on Thursday, July 10, 2025, confirming that no flights would operate in or out of Lagos between 3:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
“We wish to inform our esteemed customers and the general public that there will be no scheduled flight operations into and out of Lagos on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m,”
the statement reads. “This is due to the Lagos Local Government Elections and the movement restrictions across all roads and waterways in Lagos State, as announced by the Lagos State Police Command. Regular flight operations to and from Lagos will resume at 4pm on the same day, in line with our scheduled services.
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause our valued passengers whose travel plans are affected.”
Earlier, SaharaReporters published that the Lagos State Police Command had issued a movement restriction order for the election day, which falls on Saturday, the 12th of July.
The command stated: “Total restriction of vehicular movement throughout Lagos State” will be “from 3 am on Saturday, 12th July, 2025 till 3 pm of the same Saturday, 12th July, 2025”.
Certain individuals and groups, however, were exempted from this restriction.
