According to DSP John, on Monday, June 30, 2025, at about 4:00 pm, operatives of the State Police Command, working through a Joint Task Force patrol team, along the Ikot Ekpene-Umuahia Road, intercepted a Toyota Matrix, ash in colour, bearing registration number KRJ 944.
The PPRO said the driver, who was unknown to the team, claimed to be a Naval officer when stopped.

“The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, has commended the swift response of the patrol team and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to working collaboratively with other state commands to ensure stolen property is recovered and criminals brought to book”, she said.
