There was tension on Thursday, June 26, in Udok by Okokon Etuk Streets, off Wellington Bassey Way, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State as residents of the area woke up to the shocking sight of a young woman’s lifeless body lying in a gutter.
The victim has been identified as Goodness Israel.
However, the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, as there were no visible signs of violence on the body, aside from foam coming from her nose.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, DSP Timfon John said that the identification was made possible through a document found on the deceased.
“The name on the NIM found carries ‘Goodness Edem Israel’. Investigation is in progress; I will communicate further developments,” PPRO said.
Police have begun a probe into the incident.
