The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced the resumption of Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, across the country, with separate timelines for Anambra State and the rest of Nigeria.
The announcement was made on Thursday, June 26, during a consultative meeting in Abuja between INEC and leaders of registered political parties.
INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, revealed that voter registration will resume at two levels—state-specific and nationwide.
According to him, “In Anambra State, ahead of the forthcoming governorship election, CVR will take place in all 326 Wards from July 8 to 17, 2025, running daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., including weekends.”
The Chairman said the 10-day window will allow new voters, those seeking to transfer their registration, and those who lost or damaged their PVCs to update their records.
He added that previously printed PVCs will also be available for collection at registration centres during this period.
Furthermore, the Commission said, “Online pre-registration will resume on August 18, 2025, followed by in-person registration on August 25, 2025, across INEC’s 37 State and FCT offices and 774 Local Government Area offices nationwide.”
