Public Servants To Get Bank App-style Accounts As Akwa Ibom Edges Towards Digital Administration

Public servants; state civil servants, teachers and employees in local government councils across Akwa-Ibom State, South-South Nigeria, are to get Bank app-style accounts, following moves by the Akwa Ibom state government to launch Public Servants’ Portal.

This much was reportedly disclosed by the Akwa-Ibom State Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, Dr. Frank Ekpeyong, during the 2025 Public Service Lecture Week.

The portal, expected to offer one-stop digital gateway for managing all public service needs, Unified platform for Mainstream, Teachers, and Local Government public servants.

Other Key Features of the Portal:

Bank app-style accounts for each public servant

Built-in verification system – eliminating the need for traditional manual verifications

Access and manage payslips, payment history, and other service records seamlessly.

The move by the Akwa-Ibom State Government, is in sync with plans by the Federal Government to eliminate physical paper administration in the federal civil service before end of the year 2025.
