Former Vice President Of Nigeria Dumps PDP For APC

Wednesday June 18, 2025|

Former Vice President Namadi Sambo has left the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and joined the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Sambo, who served as Vice President between 2010 and 2015 under former President Goodluck Jonathan, made the defection after years of being a member of the PDP.

Before becoming Vice President, he was the Governor of Kaduna State from 2007 to 2010.

The former Vice President was recently seen with the current Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, a member of the APC, shortly after confirming his move to the ruling party.

His defection adds to the list of political heavyweights leaving the PDP for the APC as party alignments begin to shift ahead of the next presidential election.
