The Akwa Ibom governor Pastor Umo Eno has said the State will continuously remain united to pursue an excellent accomplishment of the ARISE Agenda.

Pastor Eno, who stated this, Friday, June 13, which was the last day of a 3-day prayer summit at the International Christian Worship Centre, Uyo, to usher his administration into its third year in office, assured that the State will continue to pray and work for a conducive and peaceful environment that will attract nations, noting that nations would only go to where there is peace and comfort.

Governor Eno urged Akwa Ibom people to continue to live and work in peace and unity despite political differences, respect each other’s opinion, ensure that the State grows positively as a united Akwa Ibom where great things take place for others to learn from.

He stressed the need for citizens to toe the path of government’s alignment with the government in power for their benefit, rather than being outside the government as opposition to their detriment, adding that it is not every time that one must work in opposition.

The governor was optimistic that at the end of it all, Akwa Ibom people would have cause to thank God that the common decision to move the State forward was truly worthwhile and rewarding.

“For us in government, we will continue to stay united to pursue an excellent accomplishment of the ARISE Agenda. That is what is most important.

“Let us not take God’s blessings in this part of the country for granted. Let us continue to pray for peace in our land and work in unity for the good of our people and our State.

“I strongly pray and believe that at the end of it all, we would all thank God that our common decision to move the State forward was truly worthwhile and rewarding,” Eno said and lauded Akwa Ibom citizens for their deep sense of unity, commitment and sacrifice towards meaningful growth and progress.

“For coming out in good numbers for us to gather here for three days as a State to pray and hand over to God the commencement of the affairs of our third year in office, I am most grateful. Thank you.

“This is indeed the spirit of a united Akwa Ibom which we have greatly utilised to pray for the peace and prosperity of our State. What we mostly needed in our State is peace, and peace can only happen where there is unity – unity of purpose.

“We have received all the prayers and all the prophetic words that God has declared upon our State that, by His grace, nations will come to the brightness of the light of Akwa Ibom State.”

Ministering on the theme, “Nations will come to your light, and Kings to the brightness of your dawn”, drawn from Isaiah 60:3, Apostle Emmanuel Nuhu Kure of Throneroom Trust Ministry, Kafanchan, Kaduna State, admonished Akwa Ibom people to stand firm with the Lord to realise and sustain the light and glory of God upon the State.

Apostle Kure, who made series of prophetic declarations for the State, prayed, blessed and pronounced the commencement of the third year in office of Governor Umo Eno.
In his opening charge on the topic, “Understanding the light and brightness that attract nations and kings to us”, culled from Matthew 5:1-16, the general overseer of Achievers Assembly, also known as Precious Faith International Church, Eket, Reverend Emmanuel Iniama, identified character as a major factor in shaping the actions and affairs of men.

Reverend Iniama admonished the people to exhibit good character to treat, particularly, their subordinates with respect and love, as character deficit is worse than budget deficit.

According to him, the rise or fall of a man is traceable to his character.
