Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC governors; National Chairman and other chieftains are expected in Uyo on Saturday, June 21, 2025 to formally receive the Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno into the All Progressive Party, APC.
This great event which will take place at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, comes up, two weeks, after Governor Eno announced his defection from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
The Vice President Kashim Shettima, may be at the head of the delegation from Abuja, if President Bola Tinubu is indisposed, to the receive Governor Eno, according to sources in Abuja
The Akwa Ibom Governor’s defection with his large entourage from PDP into APC may prompt a new wave of jostling for leadership positions within the party, according to political analysts.
However, the reception rally on Saturday will be a culmination of series of activities that heralded the governor’s defection.
