The Member representing Nsit Ibom State Constituency, and Chairman Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, AKHA, Committee on Public Acounts, Rt Hon Eric Akpan celebrated his second legislative year with his constituents in which he doled out over thirty million Naira (N30 million) cash as business and agricultural grants for them to boost their enterprise.
He equally used the forum to list out his achievements so far since he assumed office two years ago.
The event attracted many eminent personalities including political leaders, government functionaries, religious leaders and other guests.
Tagged “Eric Impact Empowerment Today”, the initiative delivered critical financial support to already established businesses and agricultural ventures across the local government.
This latest empowerment programme saw beneficiaries receiving ₦500,000 and ₦250,000 each to boost their businesses and farms. The initiative is part of Rt Hon Akpan’s broader agenda to strengthen grassroots development and create sustainable livelihoods within Nsit Ibom.
The event was remarkable as it witnessed unprecedented unity among the political class in Nsit Ibom. Leaders from across party lines both the PDP and APC came together in a powerful show of solidarity and shared vision for development.
Among the notable dignitaries present were: retired military officer from Nsit Ibom General Paul Isang, former two-time military Administrator Group Captain Sam Ewang rtd, former member representing Etinan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives member Rt Hon Barr Ema Bassey, Engr Ifiok Umondak, Former speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and Chairman SUBEB Rt Hon Anietie Etuk, Chairman of Nsit Ibom Local Government Area Rt Hon Deaconess Oto Obong Aaron, Hon Victor Umondak, among others.



Other guests were, Dr Uwemedimo Udo, Chairman of Uyo Local Government Area and Hon Evangelist Edidiong Inyang, Chairman of Ibesikpo-Asutan Local Government Area.
This unified gathering is a clear indication that Nsit Ibom is stronger together, focused not on party differences, but on people-centered development.
The beneficiaries of the empowerment program expressed heartfelt gratitude, many describing the support as a turning point in their business journeys. Whether in farming, small-scale manufacturing, or trading, the funds provided are expected to revitalize local enterprises and increase productivity.
