Two Commissioners Resign, Few Lawmakers Sit Tight As Gov Eno Defects To APC In Akwa Ibom

Two commissioners in Akwa Ibom have resigned their appointments following Governor Umo Eno’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress , APC, in the state.

Also, out of 26 lawmakers in the state House of Assembly, only few members have refused to join Governor Eno in APC, while orher members reluctantly followed.

The Commissioners are Ini Ememobong Special Duties and Ibom Deepsea and Emem Almond Bob, Finance.

Pastor Eno, who was in the presence of the APC Governors Forum Chairman and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, with his counterpart in Cross River State, Prince Bassey Otu, monitored by the wife of Senate President Unoma Ekaette Akpabio, on Friday, June 6, defected to APC at Banquet Hall of Akwa Ibom Government House, Uyo.

Governor Eno later proceeded to register in the party at Obotim ward in Nsit Ubium local government area of the state, where he performed defection formalities from PDP to APC.
