The Member representing Abak/Ika/Etim Ekpo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Clement Jimbo, has commended Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Kokoette Ebong for emerging as the Best Crime Buster in Akwa Ibom State at the 2025 Nigeria Police Award and Commendation Ceremony.
Speaking to newsmen at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, shortly after his arrival, Rep. Jimbo expressed pride in CSP Ebong, describing him as a shining example of dedication and professionalism within the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
“I’m extremely proud that one of my constituents has been recognised nationally for exemplary service. CSP Ebong’s achievement underscores the fact that, despite public perceptions, there are still patriotic officers within the NPF committed to protecting lives and property,” Jimbo said.
He further praised the officer for his outstanding performance in addressing a major criminal incident within his constituency, stating that Ebong’s success story should serve as motivation for young Nigerians interested in joining the police.
The lawmaker used the opportunity to advocate for the creation of state police, stressing that localized policing would enhance crime prevention efforts across the country.
“As we continue to push for the establishment of state police at the National Assembly, recognitions like this reinforce the need for a more decentralized policing system that can better tackle security challenges at the grassroots,” he added.
Jimbo described CSP Ebong as a role model and encouraged him to remain steadfast in service. He also expressed hope that the officer’s latest recognition would pave the way for further promotions, even aspiring that he rises to become the Inspector General of Police in the future.
“There’s a popular saying: to whom much is given, much is expected. I believe CSP Ebong has only just begun. I am confident he will continue to deliver on his mandate and make us even prouder,” he concluded.
