The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha festival.

This was announced by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who extended warm greetings and congratulations to Muslims in Nigeria and around the world on the occasion of the Islamic feast.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged Muslims to reflect on and uphold the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). He encouraged citizens to use the festive period to offer prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity in Nigeria.

The minister also reassured Nigerians that the people-oriented reforms being implemented under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration are focused on repositioning the country for lasting growth and development.

While wishing the Muslim Ummah a peaceful and joyous Eid, the minister appealed to all Nigerians to remain united and support the federal government’s efforts to rebuild national pride and global standing.
