The Golden Eaglets secured a 2-0 win over Team Kaduna to clinch the bronze medal in the men’s football event at the 2024 National Sports Festival.
Abdulmuiz Adeleke opened the scoring for the Eaglets, while the second goal came as a result of an own goal from Team Kaduna. Despite a spirited effort, the Kaduna boys couldn’t stage a comeback.
In the women’s category, Team Ogun also claimed bronze after defeating Team Osun 2-0. Damilola Adeyanju and Itunuoluwa Odeyiola were both on target for the hosts in a commanding display.
Later today, Team Ogun will face Team Kwara in the men’s final, while the Flamingos will lock horns with Team Delta in the women’s final.
