FCTA Seals PDP National Secretariat Over Unpaid Ground Rent

Tuesday May 27, 2025|

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has sealed the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja over alleged non-payment of ground rent.

The secretariat, located in Wuse Zone 5, was shut down by FCTA officials on Monday afternoon.

An official of the FCTA, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the enforcement action was part of a wider clampdown on property owners defaulting on statutory land charges. “We are carrying out a citywide enforcement on properties that have failed to comply with ground rent obligations. The PDP secretariat is among the listed defaulters,” the official said.

The sealing of the building has sparked concerns among party members and political observers, given the timing of the move ahead of the party’s high-level meeting.
