The All Progressives Congress, APC, in the North-West has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election.
The decision was taken on Saturday in Kaduna during a stakeholders’ meeting of the ruling party.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abas, paved the way for the endorsement when he moved a motion for it. The Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, seconded the motion.
At the meeting, the support for Tinubu was generally and enthusiastically declared by the Northwest APC leaders.
The meeting also offered an automatic ticket for a second term for APC governors in the 2027 governorship elections.
The APC stalwarts at the event included the National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje; Kaduna, State Governor Uba Sani; Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, and their Kebbi State counterpart Nasir Idris; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abas; Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Abubakar Bagudu, and Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal.
